FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MY THERAPY PRACTICE
What kinds of therapy do you offer?
I provide therapy for individuals, couples, and groups.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
I offer sessions both in person (in Greenwich Village/NYC area) and online.
How do I get started?
You can begin by scheduling a free phone consultation. During that call, we’ll talk about what’s going on for you, see if we’re a good fit, and decide on next steps.
What happens during a consultation call?
The consultation call is a brief, 15–20 minute phone conversation designed to help us determine whether working together feels like a good fit. During this call, you’ll have the opportunity to share what’s bringing you to therapy and ask any questions you may have about my approach. I’ll also ask a few questions to better understand your needs and goals.
What are your rates and insurance policies?
My rates fluctuate over time and will vary depending on the type of session (individual, couples, group). I do not accept direct billing for insurance, but I can provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. (See my “Insurance” page for full details.)
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule without penalty. If you cancel last minute or miss a session, you may be charged the full fee
How long is a therapy session?
Sessions are typically 45-50 minutes for individuals and 60 minutes for couples. Groups may vary inlength depending on the format (e.g. 60–90 minutes).
What issues do you help with, and who do you usually work with?
I work with individuals interested in expanding their self-awareness, improving their relationships, and recover from past trauma. For more details about my approach and areas of expertise, please visit my Services page - individuals, couples, and groups.
How long does someone typically see you for therapy?
The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some clients come for short-term support around a specific issue, while others choose to work longer-term to explore deeper patterns and personal growth. We’ll regularly check in about your goals and progress, and you can decide what feels right for you.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a foundational part of therapy. I abide by legal, ethical, and professional standards, meaning your sessions, notes, and personal information are protected except in rare circumstances (e.g. risk of harm to self or others, court order).
Do you offer sliding scale or reduced fee slots?
I have a limited number of sliding scale or reduced‑fee slots for those who may be experiencing financial hardship . Please ask during the free consultation or contact me to see if any are available.
What approach or modality do you use?
I take a psychodynamic and relational approach, focusing on how past experiences and emotional patterns may influence your present. I aim to create a safe, collaborative space that welcomes all parts of you. My practice is inclusive, affirming, and guided by curiosity and respect.
What can I expect to happen at our first session?
Our first session is a chance for us to begin building a therapeutic connection and for me to learn more about you and what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to help guide our work, but we’ll go at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.
