Obviously I have some issues to work on.
Now and forever, there will be women crying in their bedrooms, trying to figure out why "some guy" -- to quote Brad himself -- who seemed to like them so much has suddenly disappeared. All of us have been through this, but not all of us have had to go through it on national television, especially not with the built-in expectation of a marriage proposal. I truly can't imagine how hurt and angry DeAnna must be -- I feel for her. She came hoping for an explanation, and in the back of her mind, hoping that it was all some colossal mistake. Man, we've all been there.
BUT, ladies -- we cannot spend our energy trying to sort out what someone has not yet sorted out themselves. Sure, maybe Brad just didn't really feel it for either of them but it seemed like clearly he did, especially for DD and just couldn't take the pressure. It's actually surprising that this hasn't happened before to one of the Bachelors! Maybe Brad really is one of the ones who is more in touch with his feelings, or more in touch with his fear. Either way, I do believe that he is hurting and confused and pretty messed up over the whole thing. And DeAnna and Jenni are both gorgeous, confident and intelligent women who will both have very happy and successful lives and will surely meet guys who will make them forget all about what's-his-name, I have no doubt. But whether Brad will ever be able to love with his whole self and commit to someone is quite a different story.
And lastly, a note to Bachelor producers: (who are faithful readers of this blog, no doubt).
Trotting out the only two couples (out of the ten or so past unions formed on the show) who are actually still together in such a disgustingly blatant attempt to somehow reassure viewers about the possibility of love or especially, the possibility of love created on television, is insulting and demeaning to your viewers. Well, at least to those of us who could see through it. Shame on you.
Thanks for reading Roemer's Reality this season. For all of you who have been a part of this one, here's wishing you all a wonderful holiday. See you in the Spring! (Even if Brad can't commit, I'm still committed to writing about this crazy ridiculous show).
